Two supermarket giants are now getting behind us. Both the Co-op and Tesco have agreed to support the Thanet Community Development Trust in their Ramsgate stores.
The Tesco stores in Hereson Road, St. Lawrence and at Manston are all offering the Trust as one of the choices for the plastic tokens they hand out with each transaction at the check-out. Of the three choices for the tokens, the charity that gets the most is given £4,000 by Tesco.
Our Chief Executive, Keith Morris said “we could do an enormous amount of good with this money ranging from helping someone out of loneliness, to paying for people to learn new skills to find a job, right through to helping the over-50s start their own business to give them a new lease of life”.
In a fantastic double-whammy the Co-op has also chosen to support us in our work with local people. If you are a Co-op member you just need to log onto their website with your details and in a couple of clicks you select the Trust as your chosen local charity. The Co-op will then donate 1% of all their own brand and funeral care sales to help Thanet locals.
If you think we might be able to help you or someone you know then give us a call on 01843 855155, or if you want to help us to help others then you know what to do when you do your next Tesco or Co-op shop.
TCDT helps people in need. If you can’t help yourself, we’ll help you if we can.
